AMI (Association Montessori Internationale)  is the accrediting organization started by Dr. Maria Montessori herself to ensure the availability of authentic Montessori.

Dr. Angeline Lillard, psychology professor, Universitinia; author of The Science Behind the Genius, has presented her findings and continued research at several AMI conferences and events.

Steven J. Hughes, PhD, LP, ABPdN is Director of Education and Research for The TOVA Company, and Assistant Professor of Pediatrics and Neurology
at the University of Minnesota Medical School.  Dr. Hughes
completed his PhD in clinical psychology at the University of
Minnesota Medical School, where he joined the faculty of the
Division of Pediatric Clinical Neurosciences in 2001.  Dr. Hughes
research interests include measurement of attention and
executive functioning in children and adults, the effects of living
in poverty on child development, and the neurodevelopmental
benefits of classical Montessori education.  Watch this video

Montessori Science, by Dr. Angeline Lillard (author of Montessori: The Science behind the Genius) offers links to several resources.

"The Early Years: Evaluating Montessori Education," published in the September 29, 2006 Science magazine, found significant advantages for Montessori over traditional education.

"Montessori, Now 100, Goes Mainstream" from the January 2, 2007 issue of The Washington Post, does likewise.

Harvard Business Review recently discussed innovative entrepreneurs vs. average executives. Towards the end, the article mentions a connection between several successful innovators and Montessori education! Here is the link to the full article (look at the last paragraph).
